The Improving species biodiversity: A case study into the Xingu Seeds Network illustrates Partnerships for Forests’ support for regenerative business models in high biodiversity areas in Brazil.
The case study focuses on the Xingu Seed Network which sells seeds from more than 250 species of native trees, collected in the transition area between the Brazilian Cerrado and the Amazon.
A research team from the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT) verified the high quality of seeds of native species in these models and reinforced the understanding that their use in forest restoration increases the genetic diversity of vegetation.
