The businesses cover a broad spectrum, from major industry players in sectors often associated with deforestation who have found more sustainable ways of doing business – through to smaller start-ups and entrepreneurs opening up new value chains for emerging forest-friendly commodities.
As the climate crisis intensifies, governments, market leaders, and industry must scale up efforts to decarbonise and invest in nature-based solutions. For this to work, there must be a pipeline of proven regenerative models that can deploy capital into protecting nature, restoring nature, and bringing returns for people and planet. This booklet is intended to give programme developers, investors, and business leaders a flavour of the initiatives that are already working to fill this gap.
