Presenting the successful story of Planeta, a regional business built around non-timber forest products in the departments of Antioquia and Chocó, in Colombia.

Planeta has provided a boost to a small community-led company’s efforts to promote fair trade by selling açaí and heart of palm from sustainable value chains, helping to improve livelihoods.

With the support of Partnerships for Forests, it has developed a compelling marketing and sales strategy, diversified its customer base, built business capabilities, and expanded its product offering.

In the future the company plans to develop a “boutique açaí berry pulp” as a value-added natural product for premium international markets.
